ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING CHANGES |
NOTE 13 – ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING CHANGES:
In the normal course of business, management evaluates all new accounting pronouncements issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (“FASB”), the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Emerging Issues Task Force, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants or any other authoritative accounting body to determine the potential impact they may have on the Company’s consolidated financial statements. In September 2011, the FASB amended its guidance related to the periodic testing of goodwill for impairment. This guidance allows companies to first assess qualitative factors to determine whether the existence of events or circumstances leads to a determination that it is more likely than not that the fair value of a reporting unit is less than its carrying amount. If the entity determines that this threshold is not met, then performing the two-step impairment test may not be necessary. The provisions of the amended guidance were effective for the Company in the first quarter of fiscal 2013. The Company will perform its annual impairment testing of goodwill pursuant to this guidance during the third quarter of fiscal 2013. Management does not expect any other recently issued accounting pronouncements, which have not already been adopted, to have a material impact on the Company’s consolidated financial statements. |
